7th Annual Leading the Way Awards Gala

The 7th Annual Leading the Way Awards Gala
November 20, 2010
The Hyatt Regency Hotel- Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The 2010 Leading the Way Awards Gala once again did just that: “Lead the Way.” Under the leadership of event chair Liz Greco Rocks and honorary co-chairs Robert and Mary Falese, some 390 guests celebrated NHS’ accomplishments while raising $340,000 in support of the 50,000 children and adults within our continuum of care.
Honored guests of the evening were Edward M. Kennedy, Jr. who received the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the Kennedy family for their support of individuals with special needs. Also recognized were Paul and Margaret Hondros as the 2010 Leading the Way Award recipients for their commitment to autism research, education and care.
This year’s Fran Egan Courage Award went to the 37 NHS Peer Specialists who overcame their own personal challenges in recovery and are now assisting others to do the same. All of the honorees were recognized in a video address by Vice President Joe Biden for their commitment to service.
The Quaker City Mummers and the Party Dolls made for a festive evening, all to raise funds and awareness for those deserving our attention. The NHS Foundation is very fortunate to have so many loyal and generous friends that are passionate about our mission.
We would like to thank all of those whose attendance and support made this year’s event such a huge success. Your generosity allows NHS to make a difference in the lives of thousands of individuals and families every day.
