NHS Human Services Hosts 8th Annual Leading the Way Awards Gala
Philadelphia, Pa: NHS Human Services Foundation hosted its 8th Annual Leading the Way Awards Gala, a Venetian Carnival-themed fundraiser on Saturday, November 12 at the Hyatt Regency Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia, PA. The Gala honored individuals who act as champions for individuals with special needs.
More than 350 people were in attendance raising $335,730 for individuals with special needs. The funds raised will be used for special programs and capital improvements, which will improve the quality of care for more than 50,000 adults and children receiving services from NHS programs across seven states.
Recipients of this year’s awards include:
- Leading the Way Award: OfficeMax for their commitment of the advancement of the NHS Human Services mission to support some of our most challenged citizens.
- Fran Egan Courage Award: Michael Peteraf for overcoming his own personal challenges and pursuing a successful 42-year career with the U.S. Postal Service.
Guests enjoyed an acoustic performance by Justin Thompson, Philadelphia, before dinner and music by CTO 5th Avenue following dinner.
The NHS Human Services Foundation is the charitable arm of NHS Human Services. Through its fundraising activities, the Foundation enables NHS programs a chance to provide the highest quality of care to all consumers despite public funding cuts and the stressed economic climate. The Foundation subsidizes where funding falls short, in an effort to provide seamless, uninterrupted care for the individuals who depend upon NHS services.
