Congratulations to Senator Rocks for his Reappointment to State Employees' Retirement Board

On Tuesday, December 13, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett announced the reappointment of NHS Human Services Chairman and CEO, The Honorable M. Joseph Rocks, to serve his fifth term on the State Employees’ Retirement Board. Members of the State Employees’ Retirement Board oversee the state’s $26 billion pension system, which is comprised of more than 200,000 annuitants. Rocks was first appointed to serve on the board in 1996 and previously served as the House and Senate appointment to the PA School Retirement systems.

“I am honored by Governor Corbett’s reappointment and the Senate's confirmation of what has been my longstanding service to the Commonwealth. The challenges in this nation facing public pension systems are enormous. To have the confidence of our new Governor, the Legislature, and of the retirees, and the tax payers of the Commonwealth, to exercise sound judgment, is an honor. I accept with the gravity of its charge,”
said Rocks.

Addressing the appointment, Corbett wrote, “Best wishes for success in your continued responsibilities and appreciation for your dedicated services to the Commonwealth.”

Rocks brings 20 years of service under seven governors to the Commonwealth’s pension system. Corbett’s reappointment insures the continuity of his experience and sound judgment on behalf of the billions of dollars of investments across the globe.

The NHS Family congratulates our leader, Senator Rocks, on this important appointment!
