Pitt Students Sponsor Fall Dance for Special Needs Students

Greensburg, PA: On October 5th, students from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will sponsor a fall dance for the students at NHS Schools Latrobe (224 St. Cecilia Road, Latrobe, Pa) and Herminie (121 St. Edwards Lane, Herminie, Pa). The dance is from 6-8pm, for students 14 years of age and older.
The theme to the dance is “Through the Decades”. The students are encouraged to dress from the 70s, 80s, or 90s. The students have been learning about the different styles of music as well as the clothes from each decade as part of their curriculum.
“The NHS Schools strive to teach our students skills that can assist them to succeed in the community. The students work on transition and social skills throughout the day including socially interacting with each other either at the school or in the community,” said Cindy Coulson, head teacher at the NHS School Latrobe.
