Senator Rocks named a Fellow of the Health Ethics Trust
Our chairman and CEO, Senator M. Joseph Rocks, has been named a Fellow of the Health Ethics Trust. This national recognition is the highest honor bestowed by this group and was established over a decade ago to honor an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the endeavor of healthcare compliance. Senator Rocks joins a small and distinguished group of CEOs to be given this honor. Past fellows include June Gibbs Brown, Inspector General of the US Department of Health and Human Services, Anthony Spezia, CEO of Covenant Health in Tennessee, Vicky Gregg, CEO of BCBS in Tennessee, Marianne Spicer, CCO of the Mass General Health System, Michael Covert, CEO of Palomar Pomerado Health and Fred Verinder, former Acting Assistant Director of the FBI and former CCO of BCBS in Illinois.
The Health Ethics Trust is a division of the Council of Ethical Organizations and was established in 1995 in response to the growing ethics and compliance concerns in the healthcare field. Their mission is to assist healthcare organizations committed to ethical and legal conduct to cope with compliance requirements and regulations.
This award recognizes Senator Rocks’ leadership in the development of a compliance program and standards for NHS and his vision, supported by the NHS Office of Corporate Accountability, in making personal integrity the standard throughout NHS. As you know, NHS has received national recognition in this arena previously and has been awarded accreditation for its opioid treatment programs by the Council On Accreditation as well as two awards for our compliance and ethics program and processes.
Senator Rocks will receive this award formally at the Health Ethics Trust Best Practices Forum on October 27, 2008.
