EDUCATION AND AUTISM SERVICES

The NHS Schools:

By blending behavioral expertise and education, NHS Schools partner with families, school districts, and community organizations to provide a quality educational environment that promotes individual student growth. Our goal is to teach students diagnosed with autism and emotional support needs the skills necessary for success in the general education setting and to transition them, as appropriate, back to a less restrictive environment within their home school districts, competitive employment and independent living.

INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES SERVICES

Assistive Technology:

Assistive technology helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn independence and to stay connected with family and friends. Individuals in our programs learn how to use the technology safely and effectively to communicate with their families and friends, gain new skills and pursue other interests.

Supported Employment:

NHS empowers individuals with IDD by helping them find jobs in the community. Our array of employment services are designed to support people as they progress into the community through integrated employment.

Dental Care:

Using a sensory adapted dental environment (SADE), we are decreasing levels of anxiety and stress exhibited by children and adults with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities during routine dental care.

Memory Care Home:

This home is designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are experiencing Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia (AD/D). The home provides a more relaxed schedule with on-site programming to help adults with AD/D maintain a sense of purpose and dignity with resources available to help them reach their full potential.

Sensory Room:

Sensory rooms assist individuals to improve their sensory processing. Using various pieces of sensory equipment, we can help to improve everyday activities, problems with learning, impaired motor skills or behavior problems.
