Consumer Advisory Group

The Consumer Advisory Group is an independent body consisting of twelve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who receive services from NHS. The Group has the responsibility for assessing and making recommendations for improving the level and satisfaction of services provided by NHS. The members are supported by NHS staff, but have their own chair and set their own agendas. In addition, the group works to further better communication among consumers and to develop social opportunities for interaction. They also have a wider community interest and participate in local activities including fundraising for causes such as autism and world hunger. A contingent from the group participates in the annual WALK NOW FOR AUTISM and NHS fundraising activities. This group has become a model for other groups around the state.
