Day Services

Day Services are designed to enhance the overall quality of life of the individuals being supported.  These supports may range from a specialized facility that provides functional activities, assistance in meeting personal needs, and assistance in performing basic daily activities, or activities and learning opportunities that promote independence.  Additionally, Supported Employment programs help to empower people by assisting them find a job.

Community-Based Day Services

These services are designed for individuals who require specialized activities intended to enhance skill development and independent living. The supports are driven by individual need.  The primary goal of these services is to provide a safe, structured, supportive, stimulating environment for the individual.  Support is focused on increased functional independence. This service may include full or part-time employment, supported employment, volunteer work, and recreational activities. A personalized approach to vocational and day services encourages individuals to explore options, make choices, and experience growth which enables them to discover abilities and interests they never knew they had.

Supported Employment

Supported employment is designed to empower people by helping them find jobs within the community while receiving support from training specialists or job coaches.  Training specialists work with employers to prepare employees in a specific job.  An in-depth job analysis is conducted and the employee is trained to carry out all tasks involved with that job.  Once this occurs, the employee will no longer need the support and assistance of the job coach.  However, regular scheduled meetings with the employer and employee are held to provide long-term support and additional training if needed.  Services for people who wish to find a job include:  evaluation, job search, help with application and interviews, building work relationships, community inclusive activities, and opportunities for community service.

Adult Training Facilities

The Adult Training Facility is a specialized program that offers participants opportunities for enrichment in all aspects of functional skills. The Adult Training Facility offers programs and activities geared to help individuals develop skills and increase independence in the community, through opportunities such as employment and volunteer work. These include recreational trips into the community, familiarization with public transportation systems and eating in public restaurants.  The individual program supports are person centered. Individuals choose and attend activities of interest to them.  Empahsis is placed on developing capacity in all areas of daily life.

In Home Support

In home supports are provided to people in their home and community. It is through use of a familiar environment that people learn more quickly. These supports are generally flexible and driven by the needs of each individual and family identified in an individual plan. Services may include: personal care, respite, homemaker services, personal support services, environmental adaptations, therapies, transportation, adaptive equipment and technology, and community activities including paid memberships to community facilities which enhance a person’s life.

Home-Based Services

Home-Based Waiver Services are designed to offer a variety of services and supports to families who have a child with an intellectual disability living at home, or to an individual living in the community in his or her own home.  Resources, support and assistance are provided to  help the family in maintaining their child at home or directly to the individual to foster him or her remaining independent in their own home. Certain eligibility requirements apply for receipt of supports.
