NHS provides Behavioral Health and Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) to individuals under the age of 21 with behavioral challenges. BHRS is a Medicaid funded program providing one on one family and child centered services in various environments to reduce or replace problem behaviors with positive, socially appropriate behavior. Services are driven by the psychological evaluation and treatment plan and progress is monitored through the collection and analysis of data. A Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is conducted for each child and interventions are designed to address these findings of this assessment. Services must be deemed necessary by a psychologist and can include:
- Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC)
- Mobile Therapy (MT)
- Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS)
Services may be provided in the home, school or within the community and address areas such as safety awareness, communication, social skills, functional independence, and appropriate group/classroom behavior.
