Apollo, PA: On September 11, NHS Schools, a licensed private academic school providing behavioral expertise and education for students with special needs, will open its 15th location in Pennsylvania with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at 109 Owens View Road.
“The NHS Apollo School offers highly specialized services for students with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis or identified Emotional Support need by utilizing a strengths-based approach and evidence-based practice so that each child can become successful, independent members of the community,” said Heather Tustin, Executive Director at NHS Schools. “Our goal is to teach students the skills necessary for success in the general education setting and to transition them, as appropriate, back to a less restrictive environment where they can access general education with typical peers in their home school district.”
On August 28, the school opened its doors to students ages 5-21. As a resource for area school districts, the new NHS Apollo School will partner with families, school districts, and community organizations to provide a quality educational environment which will promote individual student growth. NHS adheres to the Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations, providing education and related services, alongside our student’s therapeutic needs.
The NHS Apollo School will offer consultation and training for local school districts, and in-district special education classrooms maintained by highly trained NHS team members in collaboration with area school districts.
